Arisa Hoshiki announces retirement due to injuries

It was announced today that Wonder of Stardom Champion Arisa Hoshiki has been forced into retirement at just 24 years of age due to “neck and head injuries”.

In 2019 Hoshiki made her return to STARDOM to take part in the Cinderella Tournament. She would go on to win the tournament picking up major victories over Natsuko Tora, Saki Kashima, and Konami in the final.

Hoshiki, then went on to defeat Momo Watanabe for the Wonder Of STARDOM Championship, which she has now held for over 370 days.

Hoshiki would also take part in the first ever STARDOM match at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 14. The history-making match saw Arisa Hoshiki and Mayu Iwatani take on Hana Kimura and Giulia in a special exhibition match exclusively for the fans in attendance.

At just 24, Hoshiki had a massive future in front of her and her retirement is a massive blow for STARDOM and Joshi wrestling.

Her amazing footwork and kicking skills have made her an instant fan favourite, a GIF sensation and an extraordinary talent that will be sorely missed.

A wrestler being forced into retirement is always tough to hear about but the fact that she is just 24 with so much promise makes the announcement even harder to take.

All at Diva Dirt are very saddened to hear this news and wish Arisa Hoshiki a speedy recovery and a healthy future.
