For the first time in 420 days we have a new Raw Women’s Champion.
At Night of Champions on Saturday, Asuka defeated Bianca Belair to become a three-time Raw Women’s Champ. This would end Belair’s reign at 420 days which has her as the longest reigning women’s champion on the main roster of the modern era.
The match itself wasn’t as good as their encounter at WrestleMania, but it had its moments. Throughout the match, Asuka often targeted the hair of Belair. Towards the end of the match, Asuka missed with the mist which kept Belair still fighting. But that wouldn’t be the end of the mist.
Hanging over the middle ropes, Asuka spit some of her mist on her fingers. Belair went for the KOD but facing away from the official, Asuka used the mist to rake the eyes of Belair. Asuka would pin Belair to become the new champ.
The SmackDown Women’s Title was also on the line at this event. This match, however, was super short. On her birthday, Natalya faced Rhea Ripley for the gold. Natalya wasn’t even able to get any offense or out of the gate due to a distraction from Dominik. It only took one minute for Ripley to land Riptide on Natalya to get the win.
