At NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia’s pre-show, the 2017 NXT End of the Year awards were revealed. For the female competitor of the year, Asuka was announced as the winner. She beat out Nikki Cross, Ember Moon, Ruby Riot, and the tandem of Billie Kay and Peyton Royce.

Later on in the evening, it was also revealed that Asuka had beaten out Aleister Black for NXT Overall Competitor of the Year, earning her second award for the night.
