A few weeks ago we learned that indy star Athena will be out of action indefinitely with a shoulder injury.
Athena will undergo surgery to repair a severely separated shoulder, and has asked friends and fans to help raise funds to pay for her recovery.
In a fundraiser started on GiveForward.com, Athena has set a goal of $2,000.
The page also describes Athena’s injury in detail:
On August 9, 2013, Athena suffered a Grade 2 AC tear and bruised shoulder blade with cartilege damage as a result of landing badly after getting German Suplexed during a match for the WSU Secret show. Because of the injuries she incurred, a large amount of medical expenses has mounted up including ER visit, MRI, X-rays, and physical therapy. This also means she will not be able to compete on upcoming shows for SHIMMER, WSU, AIW, ACW, etc. Recovery time is estimated at 4-6 months. This page is a way for fans of Athena to give back to one of the fastest raising stars in wrestling.
Donors who give $10 or more will receive an autographed photo, while a donation of $25 or more will earn a free WSU DVD featuring Athena.
With 24 days left for the fundraiser, Athena has raised $195 of her goal.
