Athena Makes AEW Debut And Confirmed All Elite; Jade Cargill Retains TBS Title

Athena is officially now All Elite.

The former NXT Women’s Champion Athena (Ember Moon) made her official debut for the AEW promotion during the Double or Nothing event on Sunday. She appeared after the TBS Championship match that had Jade Cargill defend her title and undefeated streak for the second time against Anna Jay.

First, Cargill retained her title and kept her winning streak intact against Anna as the match quickly became a numbers game in favor of the champion. Cargill had her Baddies with her as Kiera Hogan and Red Velvet made sure to interfere in the match.

The back half of the match witnessed Anna delivering a Blockbuster on the champion. The challenger continued to have the upper hand as she slammed the champ into the ring post before hitting a double DDT to Velvet and Hogan. After trading moves, Cargill’s manager, Mark Sterling, went to the ring to distract the referee. Anna took advantage and hit Cargill with a crutch and a Russian Leg Sweep which gave her a near fall. John Silver, who was out to help Anna, hit a brainbuster on Mark Sterling, but the action inside the ring saw Cargill hit Eye of The Storm on Jay to get her own near fall.

Anna continued to fight back and reversed the Jaded to a Queen Slayer Rear naked choke. Cargill reversed it, slamming Anna into the corner. As the two women brawled in the corner, they which were distracted by the debuting Stokely Hathaway (formerly known in WWE as Malcolm Bivens). Cargill hits an Avalanche Jaded to get the win.

As mentioned before, after the match Athena’s music hit and she makes her way down to the ring. At this time Kris Statlander had already joined her friend Anna Jay in the ring to start evening the numbers. Hathaway instructed the Baddies to leave the ring, which they did, backing away from the confrontation.
