Hello everyone! Last weekend Athena went all the way to Australia for Global Wars, where she put her title on the line against Alex Windsor.
Before the main event title match, both had a backstage interview. The forever champion, fallen goddess and American Joshi took the time to reintroduce herself to her Australian Minions, stating that she is not the one to be messed with, and she is not the one to be overlooked (I hope Tony Khan was listening)
While Alex Windsor gave Athena her flowers, she said that underestimating her could be the biggest mistake in Athena’s career.
The International Women’s Cup winner Momo Watanabe was there watching from the audience.
Athena played with her challenger, putting her down throughout the match, and was also able to showcase her strength against her powerhouse competitor.
Windsor did a fair job getting near falls and doing some damage to the champion, including an impressive twisting Fisherman superplex, but regardless of her attempts, it was not match for Athena, who finished the match with the O face to retain her title.
