The ROH Women’s Word Champion Athena was set to take on the former NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale on this weekends AEW Collision. The match was postponed after Nightingale was not medically cleared to compete. It is a semi-finals match in the Owen Hart Tournament.
In a backstage segment, Athena blamed Nightingale for ruining her Collision debut or as she called it her first victory on AEW’s newest show. Willow would tell Athena she will be cleared by Friday’s Rampage and their match will take place then. Athena doesn’t think that Willow will be cleared by then. Not only does Willow think she will be cleared but she plans to win the whole tournament and then challenge Athena for the ROH Women’s Title.
The winner between these two women will go to the finals to face either Skye Blue or Ruby Soho.
A women’s match did take place on Collision with Julia Hart taking on Bambi Hall to get a win.
