NXT’s Ava Raine has had a name change to her profile on WWE.com. She is now being referred to as just “Ava” dropping her surname.
Ava, real name Simone Johnson, made her long-awaited debut for WWE under its NXT brand last fall. She was introduced as the fourth member of the Schism faction and the “Final Girl.” Since her debut, she has not had her in-ring debut, but it seems to be leading with that.
Over the past few weeks, Ava has been targeting Thea Hail. First, she kidnapped her and then distracted her from her match against Tiffany Stratton on the Feb. 14 episode.
WWE has had a habit of dropping either the first or last names of its Superstars, mostly under the prior regime.
