On paper, Bayley has had an incredible year in 2019. In fact, between her reign as one-half of the inaugural Women’s Tag Team Champions and being a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion she hasn’t spent much of the year without a title. As of today, she has a total combined reign as SmackDown Women’s Champion of 217-days. This surpasses Becky Lynch’s record of 216-days. Bayley has accomplished this in two reigns. Lynch has had three.
Bayley won her first title at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view in May after she cashed in on the new champion – Charlotte Flair. She would hold that first reign for 140-days until Flair beat her at Hell in a Cell. After just five days, Bayley would pin Flair once again to enter her second and current status as champion.
When it comes to the longest single reign however, Bayley is just behind Flair in that regards. Flair holds the longest single title reign for the blue belt at 146-days to Bayley’s 140.
What do you make of this accomplishment? Would you like to see Bayley hold the title longer in 2020? If not, who would you like to see become the next champion?
