This weekend Bayley reached a huge milestone by becoming the first-ever woman to hold the SmackDown women’s champion for a full year.
Bayley defeated Charlotte Flair for the championship on Friday Night SmackDown on October 11, 2019.
The title win solidified her new heel character. Gone was her signature ponytail and tasselled jacket and a more serious and stoic Bayley stood before his. The Hugger persona was officially dead when scythed down the inflatable wavy armed tube men on her way to the ring.
Bayley has successfully defended the title ten times over the space of a year, which also saw her and Sasha Banks hold the Women’s Tag Team Championship also.
As the Golden Role Models, Bayley and Banks would reign supreme over the both WWE’s women’s divisions. Their relationship would explode when Bayley viciously attacked Banks last month.
Bayley now has to defend her cherished title against her former partner and best friend inside Hell in a Cell.
All at Diva Dirt would like to congratulate Bayley on this amazing achievement.
