Liv Morgan continues on as WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, while Bianca Belair‘s Raw Women’s Championship reign may need damage control.
WWE Clash at the Castle opened in exciting fashion as Damage Control’s Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY battled Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka in a lengthy six-woman tag match. The bout was full of tandem offense with each squad taking turns picking the other apart.
Bayley, Kai, and SKY controlled the numbers game long enough to triple team Belair while Bliss and Asuka were down. Kai kicked the champ in the face before Bayley planted Belair with Rose Plant. SKY finished things off with a moonsault to allow Bayley to score the pinfall victory over The EST. With that victory comes Belair’s first pinfall loss in 2022.
In the third match on the main card, Liv Morgan was tasked with defending her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Shayna Baszler. The Queen of Spades spent plenty of time picking the champ apart, but Morgan remained resilient despite her damaged arm.
Morgan tried out a few submission holds herself, though the Submission Magician always found a way out. Baszler looked to put Morgan asleep with the Kirifuda Clutch, but Morgan reached the ropes and managed to hit obLIVion for the three-count. Liv Morgan’s reign lives to see another day.
