Becky Lynch bests Lita to retain the Raw Women’s Title at Elimination Chamber

Becky Lynch is still the Raw Women’s Champion after defeating the Hall of Famer and four-time Women’s Champion Lita at the Elimination Chamber event. A battle of two generations collided with Lita competing in her first singles match in nearly 16 years.

Any reservation that Lynch tried to hang on to as she entered battle with her childhood inspiration quickly went out the window. The champ focused on past injuries to Lita by targeting her neck at parts of the match to try and gain the advantage. Lynch even executed a moonsault of her own to try and use Lita’s arsenal against her but was unable to connect when Lita moved out of the way.

Lita tossed everything at Lynch throughout the match including a Twist of Fate and nearly won with a moonsault that had many thinking that the legend was going to win her first title since 2006. Lynch would put Lita away after reversing another Twist of Fate attempt into the Manhandle Slam to get the pin.

After the match, Lita became emotional in the ring as Lynch made her way up the ramp. The Hall of Famer embraced the crowd soaking in her moment.

With Lynch retaining she will be defending her Raw Women’s Title at WrestleMania in April against Bianca Belair. Belair won a number one contender Elimination Chamber match earlier in the event. For more on this, you can click here.

Also at Elimination Chamber, Naomi and Ronda Rousey win in a tag team bout against Charlotte Flair and Sonya Deville. Rousey had one hand tied behind her back during the bout. She was still able to submit Deville in the armbar to win the match for her team. From winning the Royal Rumble match in January, Rousey will be facing Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania.
