Becky Lynch re-injures knee at WWE live event

Last Monday night on Raw, the main event of WrestleMania was drastically altered when WWE Chairman Vince McMahon suspended Royal Rumble winner Becky Lynch for 60 days. Lynch’s Mania place as challenger to Ronda Rousey’s Raw Women’s Championship has been replaced by Charlotte Flair.

Most of us assumed we would not see anymore developments in this storyline until next Monday, but as it turns out, WWE keeps their ball rolling even when the cameras aren’t rolling.

As it can be seen in an Instagram video on WWE’s page, earlier tonight, a live event was held in Alexandria, LA where Flair was pitted against Asuka. Suddenly, as Flair was wailing on The Empress with a kendo stick, The Man hopped the barricade to attack The Queen. In the midst of the brawl, Flair desperately kicked Lynch’s knee; the same knee that Nia Jax injured during the Rumble.

The Queen proceeded to clobber The Man’s leg with a steel chair and wedge it underneath the bottom rope. WWE are now reporting that Lynch has re-aggravated said injury.

WWE typically doesn’t acknowledge house show events as official canon since only a select live crowd is there to see it. However, seeing WWE promote the attack on all of their social medias has us thinking that this moment could play a significant role in the ensuing WrestleMania storyline. We will have to wait and see how this plays out.

Keep checking in with Diva Dirt for more updates regarding the extent of Becky Lynch’s kayfabe injury and how it plays into the Raw Women’s Title storyline.
