Twitter has comprised their end-of-year lists and have announced several lists on their Twitter Data handle. Of those lists, one in particular was for the Top 10 women athletes worldwide. Both Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey made this list at number six and number eight respectively.
After this was announced, Stephanie McMahon congratulated both ladies and added the hashtag #WomensEvolution.
Per Twitter Data they explained the following criteria used to make their lists:
“Quick note on methodology. Instead of ranking by overall Tweet volume, we’re ranking by the number of people Tweeting about each topic. We wanted to know what got the most people talking, not just what was the loudest.”
There were no men from WWE or wrestling in general on the Top 10 male athlete list.
