At the Stomping Ground pay-per-view on Sunday we witnessed Becky Lynch coming to the aide of Seth Rollins, her real-life boyfriend. In May it was confirmed by the couple themselves that they are indeed dating. Since then they have been spotted backstage together on WWE programming but haven’t brought the relationship into the ring.
During last evening’s event, Lacey Evans was the special guest referee for the Universal Championship match. This match was between the champion Rollins and Baron Corbin.
Corbin picked Evans as the referee in a strategic move. He knew that Rollins wouldn’t attack her as he has been doing with a steel chair to prior referee choices.
Evans, of course, favored Corbin during the officiating. She delivered a low-blow to Rollins which caused Lynch to come out and help her beau.
Evans competed against Lynch earlier in the night in a RAW Women’s Championship match. Evans came up short as she tapped out to the champions Dis-arm-her allowing ‘The Man’ to retain.
According to PWInsider the relationship between Lynch and Rollins will continue to be paired together on-screen moving forward. The details of how this will play out haven’t been disclosed at this time.
There is a rumor that there may be a mixed-tag-team match on tonight’s RAW between Lynch & Rollins vs. Evans & Corbin. The preview from WWE.com for RAW states that ‘The Man’ isn’t done with Evans just yet.
