On this week’s RAW, Becky Lynch made her way out to the ring now being the RAW Women’s Champion. Bianca Belair has also been drafted to RAW whom Lynch has had a rivalry with since returning to the ring at SummerSlam. In a great promo, Belair has let Lynch know she isn’t finished with her just yet and is coming for the RAW Women’s Title.
After the title belt swap on SmackDown where Lynch now holds the RAW Women’s Title and Charlotte Flair the SmackDown Women’s Title, Lynch kicked off her promo by saying it felt good to have the RAW Title back. A title that she hasn’t lost since she won it at WrestleMania 35.
Lynch comments on her massive Triple Threat victory at Crown Jewel and then addresses the crowd on who she should face next. Saying that Bianca Belair should be nowhere near the gold, Lynch mentions some new competitors such as Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan.
Belair’s music hits and she adds more to the conversation. She goes down the list – she has beaten Sasha Banks at WrestleMania, Bayley at Hell in a Cell, and Charlotte Flair last week [by disqualification]. So technically with that last win, it earns her a rematch for the RAW Women’s Championship (which Lynch is now the RAW Women’s Champion).
Belair lays out the challenge and she wants the match for the title right here tonight. Lynch said to get to the back of the line which made the interaction get physical as Belair takes Lynch into the corner followed by a spine buster. The EST followed up by tossing Lynch over the announce table. Once Lynch got back up, she introduced a kendo stick to the match. The kendo stick went back and forth between both women and after a KOD attempt by Belair, Lynch countered got the final shot in before retreating.
The match is set with the title on the line for next week’s RAW.
Next, Her Majesty, Queen Zelina, had her coronation on RAW. Zelina Vega won the title of Queen at Crown Jewel in a tournament final as she defeated Doudrop. While speaking during her moment, she spoke to her “subjects” (the RAW women’s locker room) to bow down to her. The roster was looking on from backstage.
Vega pondered what type of Queen she would be. She says she will be a Queen who is generous, beautiful, cruel, a Queen to be loved, and a Queen to be feared. She adds if you aren’t the most powerful woman in the room then you are nothing. After her speech, Doudrop made her way to the ring for a rematch from the tournament finals.
The roster changes from the draft may be different in this “new era” but the same matches seem to be on our screens. Regardless of that fact, Queen Zelina continues to show why she was the rightful one to become the Queen after she utilized her scepter in the match to pick up another win on Doudrop. This was done behind the referee’s back as he was trying to tie back on the cover of the turnbuckles that Vega had undone.
