Did someone call for a dream match? If you did, it’s happening!
Coming off of a successful defense against Doudrop at the Royal Rumble, Becky Lynch has a new opponent. She will be defending her Raw Women’s Championship in Saudi Arabia against Lita at the Elimination Chamber event on Feb. 19.
Lita participated in the Royal Rumble match this past weekend. She entered in the number 26 spot, eliminated Mickie James, and lasted over 10 minutes before being tossed over the top rope by Charlotte Flair.
Prior to the Rumble, she confronted Flair on SmackDown making her return to the blue brand for the first time in 20 years. During that promo, she declared that she had one more run left in her.
Lita verbally challenged Lynch for the title at the end of this week’s Raw in the center of the ring. At first, Lynch declined the challenge presented by the Hall of Famer, but Lita was able to get into her head after telling her to just say she is scared.
Prior to Lita coming out, the Rumble winner, Ronda Rousey made a statement. This was Rousey’s first time on Raw in nearly three years. With Rousey in the ring, Lynch wanted to know who she was picking for her WrestleMania opponent. Things got a bit physical when the Baddest Woman on the Planet had Lynch down on the mat before saying that she will announce her opponent this Friday on SmackDown.
This week’s Raw had two matches –
Rhea Ripley defeated Nikki A.S.H. via pinfall after delivering Riptide.
Bianca Belair defeated Carmella via pinfall after hitting the KOD.
Alexa Bliss had her next therapy session as she is making her journey back to Raw. Lilly continues to be the main focus and she describes her as real despite her therapist calling her imaginary. She was always there for her.
The therapist asks what would she do if Lilly somehow returned to her. Bliss says she would hug her, play with her, watch scary movies, and have a sleepover. A replica of Lilly was introduced. Despite the therapist reminding Bliss the doll was a replica and not the actual Lilly, Bliss gets emotional saying she has missed her. She then holds the doll to end the segment.
24/7 Champion Dana Brooke continues to avoid and fight off Tamina who once again tried to capture the gold in a backstage segment. Dana remains 24/7 Champion for now 71-days. She is currently ranked fourth as the longest-reigning of all time just behind Akira Tozawa who is at 82-days.
