Becky Lynch vs. Liv Morgan set for Day 1; Belair and Doudrop rivalry continues on RAW

Liv Morgan has herself a rematch as she will take on the RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch at the upcoming Day 1 pay-per-view event on Jan. 1. Morgan faced Lynch last week in the main event of RAW where Lynch retained after grabbing hold of the ring ropes.

Lynch took to the ring to deliver a promo in where she knows a lot of people wanted Morgan to win last week. She then continued to berate the WWE Universe stating that they all have opinions but never know what they want. Morgan interrupted Big Time Becks to let her know she wasn’t backing down and wanted to have her rematch at Day 1. Morgan knows she can beat her and wants to win the RAW Women’s Title to make it mean something again.

Lynch continued to egg on Morgan who would race to the ring as things got physical. After several blows and kicks, Morgan had the champion reeling until Lynch shoved her rival into the steel steps. Using the steel steps to her advantage, Lynch stomped on Morgan’s arm which was wedged between the steps and the ring post.

The segment ended with Lynch agreeing to the match at the upcoming Day 1 event.

Bianca Belair defeated Doudrop

Bianca Belair faced Doudrop for the second week in a row after their first encounter last week. Belair picked up the win last week but not in the way she would have liked. After failing to execute the KOD last week, Doudrop rolled out of the ring and took the count-out. This week was a much different story as the match had a pinfall.

Belair was victorious this week as she pinned Doudrop for the three count after hitting a 450 splash. After the match, Belair made her way up to the top of the ramp while celebrating with the crowd. Doudrop came back out from the back to attack Belair to end the segment.

In a Digital Exclusive, Doudrop says she does what she wants when it comes to Belair and will continue to attack her. Belair keeps getting opportunities and she doesn’t so she is going to take her own.

Rhea Ripley faced Queen Zelina in a one-on-one match. Zelina defeated Nikki A.S.H. last week and started the doubts in the head of the former tag champ seep in. Nikki approached her tag team partner prior to Ripley’s match and explained to her how she has been feeling lately. Ripley helped Nikki with her confidence reminding her that she won Money in the Bank and then cashed in on Charlotte Flair. Beating Flair is something that Ripley hasn’t done. Ripley wants to know where the champion mentality has gone for Nikki.

Queen Zelina defeated Rhea Ripley

The match itself was very short after Nikki tried to help her partner after Carmella jumped up on the ring apron. This distraction allowed Zelina to get the quick pin for the victory.

Dana Brooke was outside walking with Reggie discussing her 24/7 Championship reign. Reggie continues to show his support to Brooke on being the champion and wants to lend her as much advice as he can. They stumble upon both R-Truth and Akira Tozawa which Reggie halted their advances to go after Brooke. Brooke then ran into Tamina who she had to fight off before jumping into a snowbank. Tamina then argued with R-Truth and Tozawa to end the segment.

Lastly, Maryse was back and was the host of Miz TV. Once The Miz entered the ring, he announced himself as the first inductee of the 2022 WWE Hall of Fame. This was obviously false and Edge joined them in the ring.

Things got physical between the two and Miz warded off a spear by using his wife as a human shield. This angered Maryse to the point of slapping her husband before exiting the ring.
