Two upcoming big matches were confirmed on the Jan. 16 episode of Raw. Raw XXX will be taking place next week and that will also be the go-home episode before the Royal Rumble on Jan. 28.
The first glimpse into the women’s division on this week’s Raw was Becky Lynch coming down to the ring from the crowd. She took to the ring to call out Bayley. Lynch wasn’t at Raw last week and Damage CTRL took that to their benefit as they targeted Michin. Now, Bayley along with IYO SKY and Dakota Kai made their way to the ring. As Lynch was calling Bayley a Karen, Bayley entered the ring.
After Lynch said that Bayley hasn’t been relevant since 2015, Bayley reminded Lynch that it was her that took her spot back then. Bayley stayed back in NXT as Lynch was called up with the other two Horsewomen to take their spot on the main roster. Bayley also said that the only reason why Lynch was ever coined The Man was that some other woman punched her in the face.
Bayley originally tried to hide behind SKY and Kai, but Lynch called her out for constantly doing so. Bayley said she didn’t need them when she beat Lynch two weeks ago and she doesn’t need them to beat The Man again. Lynch challenged Bayley to a match next week inside a steel cage at Raw XXX which Bayley accepted.
The match of the night was SKY taking on Michin Mia Yim. During the match, Bayley stayed backstage while Kai was at ringside. To help Michin, Candice LeRae joined her at ringside. The final moments of the match had Kai trying to interfere and LeRae got involved to stop her. Sky then takes out LeRae which is enough for Michin to take advantage and hit Eat Defeat. Michin gets the pin for the victory. Post-match there is a scuffle between all four women with LeRae landing a codebreaker on SKY allowing herself and Michin to stand tall to end the segment.
Lastly, for the women, Bianca Belair returned after a week off following her attack from Alexa Bliss. With Belair out last week, Bliss had a lot to say about Belair but this week Belair wants her to say it to her face. Bliss comes out and does say that Belair is afraid of her. She mentions the upcoming Royal Rumble event. Belair stops her there and says that she can either wait for the Rumble match, attempt to win, and head to WrestleMania or Bliss can face her for the Raw Women’s Title at the Rumble.
Bliss agrees to the match at the Rumble but Belair wanted to get her hands on her tonight. The two start brawling at ringside and eventually, it spills out to the crowd. Belair set up two chairs to deliver a KOD but she was halted in her steps by Uncle Howdy appearing in the entryway to the arena seats. Bliss took advantage and countered. She planted Belair with a DDT to end the segment.
Rhea Ripley did appear throughout the show and at ringside for Judgment Day during their victory against the Alpha Academy.
The Bella Twins are confirmed as returning legends for Raw XXX.
