Lita, Raw, 2003.
At this time, resident plucky babyface Trish Stratus was on the receiving end of losses and attacks from Gail Kim and Molly Holly. She teamed with veterans Ivory and Jacqueline, no avail. She tried to fend them off in a 2-on-1 handicap match and was physically overwhelmed by Kim and Holly. They picked up a quick win and then continued to beat on poor Trish.
However, luckily for Trish, someone arrived on the scene to save her; old rival Lita. She dropped Molly with a hard DDT, and planted Gail with a nasty powerbomb and ended things with giving a Twist of Fate to the Women’s Champion.
We hadn’t seen Lita wrestle since April 2002, after she broke her neck. After surgery she did have a stint as a colour commentator for Sunday Night Heat, and did actually have a mini-return in 2003 only to be fired from RAW by Eric Bischoff for spurning his advances. After 17 months away, Co-GM “Stone Cold” Steve Austin rehired Lita, and she came back like a house of fire.
