Next week’s edition of NXT ushers in a new era of the brand. Gone is the black and gold logo replaced with a more vibrant and colourful version. The dark and grungy aesthetic of the CWC now has a lighter and more open vibe.
Fans have met the incoming NXT changes with mixed reactions and expressed some major reservations.
On this week’s episode of the Bump, WWE Hall of Famer and NXT commentator Beth Phoenix spoke about the revamp. During the interview, Phoenix addressed some of the uncertainty surrounding the new NXT.
“Oh, I’m so excited! I mean, new beginnings. The thing is, I feel like everybody is a little bit tentative about change. Like, what’s going to happen? Is this not going to be the NXT we know and love?” But that’s not the case at all. We’re levelling up as a brand.
“We’re going to see new faces, new talent, new excitement, new opportunities. Opportunities can beget new, incredible experiences and new matches, new lineups. I feel like our audience is going to be very pleased with the direction that NXT is headed.”
The revamped edition of NXT kicks off with a bang with two huge events taking place. Firstly Franky Monet challenges Raquel Gonzalez for the NXT Women’s Championship. Secondly, the wedding of the century between Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis is scheduled.
