Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix posted on her Twitter what she regretted from her career in the ring. She stated that her one career regret was not being able to have a steel cage match. It is no surprise that this was a regret of hers because during her tenure this type of match wasn’t ventured for the women.
Within the past four years we have witnessed a huge shift with the styles of matches that women participate in within WWE. This does include steel cages but also Elimination Chambers, TLC matches, and also Money in the Bank ladder matches.
Phoenix is currently a permanent mainstay on the commentary team for NXT alongside Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness.
She has had a few matches since returning to WWE. These include the 2018 Royal Rumble match, an eight-woman tag team match on RAW, and went for the Women’s Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania in a Fatal 4-Way alongside Natalya. It isn’t too late for Phoenix to step back into the ring and take away that regret.
