Bianca Belair is the current Raw Women’s Champion as she has risen to the top of the women’s division and the face of the company. She holds back-to-back WrestleMania wins and has now won both singles championships in the course of a year.
Belair’s future is bright and only more accolades could come from The EST. She spoke recently with DS Shin from Ring the Belle as she was at the Boys & Girls Club of America for the be a STAR event in Chicago. After discussing the importance of the be a STAR program, the two went right into talking about Belair’s WrestleMania moments.
After defeating Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 38, Belair posted on social media, “3 Down..1 to go.” Shin questioned Belair if she intends on being the horse butcher referring to Belair already pinning three out of four of the horsewomen since becoming a main roster star.
Belair responded, “Listen, I’m ready. You know I feel like I’m at the forefront of a new generation of women’s wrestling and the four horsewomen have done amazing things. They have paved the way, they have broken so many barriers. You know I’m not saying that they have to go anywhere just like move aside a little bit because I’m coming through. I’ve pinned Bayley. I’ve pinned Sasha. I just pinned Becky Lynch so now I’m looking forward to going after Charlotte and conquering Charlotte.”
Shin touched on the idea of the ‘Holy Trinity‘ which fans coined Belair, Sasha Banks, and Naomi after all three were victorious and won gold at WrestleMania 38. He asked for her thoughts.
“I love Sasha. Everybody knows how I love Sasha. I love Naomi. Just for all three of us to walk out with the titles and you know be able to celebrate together. You know, I’m for any time history can be made especially for women. So them being the first Black tag team to win a title, for me to be there and be able to celebrate with them with my title as well that’s what it’s all about. Women empowerment.”
She continues on representation, “For me, I always live by the quote that ‘representation is not a request, it’s a requirement.’ It’s super important to just have authentic and diverse representation. You know with me, and Naomi, and Sasha, we all represent representation and diversity in our own way. We’re just authentically ourselves. I always talk about how my role models influenced me as a kid and to think that you know we have that same influence on people now it’s going to change their lives. That’s what this is all about. So it’s just super important.”
