Big Swole wrapped up her time with AEW in November of last year when she confirmed that the two parties didn’t come to terms with renewing her contract. Following her departure, she took to her podcast and discussed her time in AEW, and further explained her reasoning for leaving the company. This drew a response publicly by Tony Khan which was left controversial amongst many fans and wrestlers alike.
In an interview with Renee Paquette on her latest podcast episode for The Sessions. Swole discussed where she stands now with AEW and her feelings about it all moving forward.
“I still have love for the people there at AEW. I still have friends and everything like that. I’m supportive. Everything that went down kind of just went as a surprise for me. I didn’t necessarily know he [Tony Khan] was going to react like that, but that’s his god given right. I thought we were cool. My line is still open for [Tony Khan and] for AEW, because I don’t like to burn any bridges.”
She continues, “I just like to tell the truth. These are my opinions. These are my experiences and I feel like they shouldn’t have been blown out of proportion as much as they were and I feel like people were doing more invalidating than actually actively listening and comprehending what I was saying. So in a sense of where my relationship is with certain fans, it’s kind of like, eh-eh, but as far as AEW, I just really wish them the best because I don’t want anybody getting out of a job. Completion is amazing for wrestling. We’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time. If everybody just put down the knives and pick up a fork everybody can eat.”
