Winner: Charlotte Flair
She may be a replacement for Becky Lynch, but Miss Charlotte Flair showed up, and she showed out. On top of giving Ronda what has easily been her best singles match to date, she helped to craft a masterpiece of a match. Credit to WWE for also putting the match over on the pre-show and on commentary, the “doubt” storyline put into it made Charlotte shine, and when she felt she was getting the worst of it, she annihilated Ronda Rousey and gave her the worst beating she’s had in her (WWE) career. She was also protected by the DQ finish, so she didn’t lose face by losing, and she also planted seeds for an inevitable return match. After her face run, many forgot that she could be vicious and ruthless, and she let it all hang out here. Kendo sticks, chairs, drawing blood, attack referees, you name it, I was impressed. Charlotte is riding a wave of momentum, the sky is the limit, and if the crowds going forward are anything like the crowd who cheered her on during Survivor Series, she’s gonna be HOT come Wrestlemania time.
