Billie Starkz became the inaugural ROH Women’s TV Champion as she defeated Queen Aminata at Supercard of Honor on Friday night. And boy did she fool us all!
An amazing fight between both women came down to Starkz drawing attention to her neck after it being targeted several times by Aminata. Which was payback as Starkz targeted Aminata’s neck early on. Starkz went up top to deliver a Senton but when she came down, Aminata got the knees up.
Starkz immediately yelled for the referee to come over and called for medical. She was put in a neck brace. A hush fell over the crowd that you could have heard a pin drop. Commentary was working the neck injury as the camera panned to them several times while Starkz was being checked out. Aminata was in the corner showing great concern and was upset over the situation.
Aminata tried to help Starkz out of the ring by opening the ropes, but Starkz proved she was faking the injury by hitting a german suplex and then locking in a rear naked chokehold for the victory.
We came to this final match at the end of a ROH Women’s TV Title tournament which began in February with 16 individuals. Starkz defeated Robyn Renegade, Diamanté, and former ROH Women’s Champion Mercedes Martinez. Aminata defeated J–Rod, Taya Valkyria, and Red Velvet on her side of the bracket.
