Britt Baker remains AEW Women’s World Champion at Revolution; New Title belt design revealed

Dr. Britt Baker is still the AEW Women’s World Champion after defeating Thunder Rosa and she has a shiny new title belt to celebrate. This will be the second time the belt has been updated since its inception.

Baker utilizes the help of Rebel and Jamie Hayter in order to retain her championship. Rosa actually had Baker tapping out in a submission maneuver but the official was distracted by Rebel. Rosa spears Rebel after being fed up with her interference and then takes out Hayter on the outside with a clothesline. Despite Rosa taking out the extra players, Baker capitalized with a stomp to get the three count.

Despite Rosa coming up short, she will be facing Legit Leyla Hirsch on this week’s Dynamite on Wednesday, March 9 in an AEW Women’s World Champion Eliminator Match. The winner will become the number one contender and face Baker for the championship at St. Patrick’s Day Slam. St. Patrick’s Day Slam was the event that Baker and Rosa battled each other in the Lights Out Unsanctioned match last year.

Speaking of Hirsch, she faced off against her rival Kris Statlander on the Buy-In pre-show. Hirsch picked up the win with a springboard moonsault.

Also at Revolution, Jade Cargill retained her TBS Championship and becomes 29-0. In the final moments of the match, Cargill goes up top and plants Conti with a frog splash. She goes for the near fall but Conti rolls out of the ring. Conti nails Jade with a kick on the outside and gets the champ in the ring. She goes for the cover but Jade kicks out. Cargill tosses Conti face first in the ring post before hitting Jaded for the win.
