Britt Baker is AEW’s biggest star and easily most improved performer in the women’s division of the young promotion.
Baker’s success has come from her on the job training, drive and determination to be the best in the company.
Speaking to the Daily Star the AEW Women’s World Champion revealed that her Performance Center was live in the AEW ring.
Here’s what Baker had to say;
“I love the NXT women’s division and am friends with so many of those girls, but they have a Performance Center. My Performance Center was AEW Dynamite, live on Wednesday nights.”
“I was learning as we go… you train in the ring, you cut promos and practice as much as you can, but I don’t have a wrestling ring in my back yard, a television set-up or a hard cam to pan to. So, a lot of what you see on tv was just trial and error because, again, we don’t have that Performance Center.”
“I think that’s why fans have taken a liking to me because they’ve been along for the ride with me since day one when I clearly didn’t know what I was doing! Now I humbly dub myself one of the faces of the whole company, and that has been a very challenging yet rewarding growth process.”
Baker’s on the job training has paid dividends. She is one of the best performers in the industry. Her character work and promo skills are excellent. Not even a knee injury, which kept her out of action for six months could halt her rise. Her wrestling ability and especially her match against Thunder Rosa took the AEW women’s division to the next level.
Baker will defend the AEW Women’s World Championship for the first time on AEW Dynamite: Fyter Fest Night 2. Her first challenger for the title is the former champion Nyla Rose.
