Candice LeRae stands by Johnny Gargano as he leaves NXT

Tonight on NXT (Feb 21st), Johnny Gargano competed in his final NXT match after losing a Career vs. Title match against the NXT Champion Andrade “Cien” Almas.

Gargano’s wife Candice LeRae was by his side and helped even up the score by attacking and chasing away Almas’ business partner Zelina Vega to the back.

Despite this, Gargano’s former partner Tommaso Ciampa cost Gargano the match by attacking him from behind with a crutch while the referee was down.

LeRaw would return to comfort her husband as he bid farewell to the NXT Universe.

She also accompanied her husband as he left NXT from the Atlanta Center Stage.

Tonight also saw Nikki Cross take on Vanessa Borne.

Cross opens the match with running forearms that sends Borne to a corner, adding in stomps to the mix. The Superstars meet in the center of the ring, where Borne whips cross to the ropes. She attempts a clothesline but Cross ducks and climbs on Borne’s back for a sleeper hold.

Borne fights off Cross with a slam and manages to block a kick to add a 360 slam for a two count. She proceeds to stomp over Cross and uses the middle rope to choke her out. She connects a snap suplex for a two count.

Slaps across the face but Cross laughs it off takes Bourne down with a running crossbody. Borne goes face first to the middle turnbuckle and is hit with a corner body avalanche. Cross climbs the top rope for a diving crossbody and puts Borne away with The Purge, a swinging fishermen neck breaker.

It was also announced that next week’s episode of NXT will feature a match-up between Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler.
