In a recent interview with returning WWE Superstar Candice LeRae, she was asked if she would like to start or join any factions. While speaking to Muscle Memory, he asks her this with LeRae currently feuding with Damage CTRL and recently picking up a win against Bayley. LeRae responds that she would like to see The Way come back.
In NXT, LeRae was in a faction with her husband Johnny Gargano named The Way. Also were Austin Theory, Dexter Lumis, and her tag team partner Indi Hartwell. Together, LeRae and Hartwell are former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.
LeRae also commented on when she knew she was returning to WWE and would make her main roster official debut on Raw.
“Johnny and I both knew for sure about a week before he debuted. I knew for a while. Keeping it a secret was very very difficult. We really, in this day in age with so much social media and so many things leaking, and trying to keep that a secret was difficult. Him being a secret was a little harder. Me being a secret was easy but hard because I was going with him to train as his training buddy, but it was just, ‘I’m just training with him.’ Then people weren’t expecting me to be ready to come back so soon. Not even Triple H was. When we said, ‘Hey, what do you think?’ He was like, Oh, okay.’ Everyone was surprised. I’m glad that, in this day and age, we were able to be genuine surprises,” she said.
