Carmella gets added to the Money in the Bank Ladder Match

On tonight’s SmackDown, WWE Authority Sonya Deville made her way to the ring and announced the first woman from the blue brand that will be in this year’s Money in the Bank. We know that Asuka, Naomi, Alexa Bliss, and Nikki Cross will represent RAW after they all qualified on Monday.

Deville reveals that the first woman to enter the match will be a two-time Money in the Bank winner – Carmella.

The self-proclaimed most beautiful woman in all of WWE made her way to the ring. She commented on the obvious choice to put her in the upcoming match, however, she wanted Deville to correct the way she introduced her and call her the most beautiful woman in all of WWE.

Before Deville could get a moment to answer, Liv Morgan’s music hits. She’s a bit confused how Carmella automatically gets put into the MITB match when she defeated her in a match last week. Morgan slaps Carmella and Deville has to break them up.

Deville sees where Morgan is coming from and tells her to prove that she deserves to enter the Money in the Bank match on July 18 by taking on Carmella right now.

The match takes place and Carmella gets caught after taking Morgan off the top turnbuckle with a head scissors. Morgan stacks her up for the pin and gets a second win in a row. Although Morgan won the match, Deville never got on the mic to confirm her spot in the Money in the Bank match. This has led to some confusion with the fans on social media.

In a WWE exclusive, Morgan confirms that her win didn’t necessarily mean she has qualified for the Money in the Bank match but her hopes are high to be placed in it.

During tonight’s bout, the Women’s Tag Team Champions Natalya and Tamina were seen watching Carmella vs. Morgan backstage on a monitor. Commentary mentioned that they may end up trying to get in the Money in the Bank match themselves. There are three spots left to fill, although Morgan more than likely will take one of those spots once WWE makes the announcement.

To kick off SmackDown there was the advertise Mixed Tag Team Match that involved SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair pairing up with Cesaro to take on Bayley and Seth Rollins. Although at Hell in a Cell, Belair was able to pin Bayley to retain her title in such a high-stakes match, the rivalry is clearly not over. Bayley pinned Belair in tonight’s match to give her and Rollins the win. The two will likely clash again at Money in the Bank.
