The blue brand’s title picture is certainly heating up. Carmella came close to that three count on so many occasions tonight as she tried to become a two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion. Unfortunately for the Princess of Staten Island, Bayley retained her title and did it in perfect heel fashion with her feet on the ropes.
This has lit a fire under the boots of Carmella. She wants a rematch and she wants it at Super ShowDown. However, in order to get there, she will have to take on Naomi next week. Naomi returned just a few weeks ago at the Royal Rumble and then SmackDown. Bayley has been trying to avoid her ever since.
Naomi would rush to the ring after the title match tonight as Bayley was attacking Carmella after the bell rang. She may have had the best interest in mind by helping Carmella then but she will do anything to get a crack at Bayley’s title. Carmella is that person standing in her way.
The winner will take on Bayley at Super ShowDown. This will be the second time women have been allowed to participate in an event in Saudi Arabia. The first was Natalya vs. Lacey Evans which took place at Crown Jewel in October.
