Like many released WWE talent, The IInspiration’s Cassie Lee has tales of lost pitches and missed opportunities.
Earlier this year Lee revealed that it was possibly her fault that the IIconics split up and it was the worst decision she ever made. Now, in a recent interview with Cageside Seats, Lee disclosed she pitched an idea to go back to NXT for a singles run before the company released her.
“I actually asked to go back (to NXT) and it was kind of, you know, it ‘was being looked into,’ is what I was told and then I got released”
In the same interview, Jessie McKay spoke about losing out on the chance for The IIconics to feud with the Bella Twins in 2019. The potential rivalry was dropped due to Nikki Bella‘s well-documented neck injuries.
“Yeah, I would have loved to I mean, and this, people know now that you know, there were talks of us feuding with the Bellas when we won the championships. I would have loved to do that. I think that would have put us on a whole different level, being able to work with them both of those extraordinary women. So that’s always something that is bittersweet that it never happened. Yeah, but just the thought that that was a possibility is still really cool.”
Since their release from WWE. They started their own podcast, Off Her Chops, announced The IInspiration Tour and are also set to release a new music single this month.
