It should come as no surprise but Charlotte Flair has been announced as a participant in next months 30-woman Royal Rumble match. The announcement was made after Flair stood in the middle of the ring and formally declared herself as the first woman participant in rumble match of the new decade. In fact, she corrected herself as she is the first female or male to announce her participation in the first rumble match of the new decade. She would share in the sentiment that this wasn’t shocking news and everyone including herself was expecting it.
Flair would continue by listing off her accomplishments, which again she explains everyone is well aware of. Instead of continuing to talk about her accolades she decides that she wants to show why she is in fact – The Queen. She then offers an open challenge because she already has her boots all laced up and ready to compete.
Natalya would be the one to answer her challenge. A match that has been seen dozens of times, but one that both competitors bring the best out of one another. After a lengthy match, Flair comes out as the victor.
Flair did not participate in the first women’s Royal Rumble match in 2018 because she was the SmackDown Women’s Champion at the time. In 2019 she was one of the final two competitors left with her rival Becky Lynch. Flair entered at number 13 and lasted an impressive 50 minutes. Lynch would come out as the winner.
What are your thoughts on Charlotte Flair being the first participant announced? The Royal Rumble pay-per-view will be live on the WWE Network on Jan. 26.
