Charlotte Flair Retains SmackDown Women’s Title at WrestleMania 38

Charlotte Flair is still the SmackDown Women’s Champion after defeating Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 38.

Rousey nearly had the match won on a few occasions. After Rousey escaped a figure eight by rolling out of the ring, she delivered a second Piper’s Pit. The referee counted to three but never called for the bell because he noticed Flair’s foot on the ropes at the last moment.

Flair went for a second Figure Eight but instead, she was pushed off into the referee and knocked him down. Rousey tried to capitalize with an armbar that caused Flair to tap out numerous times. Once again, Rousey thought she had the match won but the referee was still knocked out. She would revive the official but Flair delivered a big boot to get the pin and the victory to retain the title.
