Charlotte reportedly to take extended break from WWE

Its seems at though Charlotte‘s mega push has finally come to an end. It is being reported by TALKsport that Charlotte Flair will be taking an “extended break” from WWE.

It is stated in the report that “she will return around Royal Rumble season next year, but if a good story pops up before then – around Survivor Series – she would be open to return later this year.” But “there’s a 0 percent chance Charlotte returns for SummerSlam.”

This will be the first time Charlotte has been off WWE programming for some time. Charlotte has been at the epicentre of all things within the women’s division across the entire company since winning the Royal Rumble in January.

On last night’s RAW Charlotte challenged Asuka for the RAW Women’s Championship. Charlotte would lose this match via submission, but after the match that Nia Jax would attack Charlotte injuring her arm in the process.

The “injury” seems to be the kayfabe/storyline way of writing her off TV for the forseeable future.

WWE.com have since released the following statement reagarding Charlotte’s injury status;

Charlotte Flair is being evaluated for an injury following the ruthless attack by Nia Jax on Raw, WWE.com has learned.

Flair had already suffered an injury in a brawl with Jax prior to her Raw Women’s Title Match with Asuka. After coming up short against The Empress of Tomorrow, The Queen was ruthlessly attacked in the backstage area by Jax, who slammed a road case into Flair’s arm. While the specifics of The Queen’s injury have not been fully determined, it is believed she may have suffered a potential collarbone fracture.

Stick with WWE’s digital and social platforms for more information on Charlotte Flair’s status as it becomes available.

The news that Charlotte will be away from WWE comes as a welcome surprise as her unwavering booking at the top has become tiresome, to say the least. This overexposure was a detriment to her as a performer and wrestler and some time away is the best thing for us and more importantly Charlotte.
