Many outlets are reporting that Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair will challenge NXT Champion Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 36.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting the news but there is no official confirmation as of yet. However, there are reports from Michael Johnson of PWInsider that Charlotte is due to appear on Wednesday night’s NXT.
It was previously that reported that Charlotte would be making her challenge to either Becky Lynch or Bayley on RAW. Charlotte, however, left her options open revealing only that she was to challenge for a ‘championship.’
Charlotte and Ripley faced off at last year’s Survivor Series as team captains for their respective brands and the lead-up to Survivor Series, Ripley pinned Flair on SmackDown in a triple-threat match that also featured Sasha Banks.
