Chelsea Green has made her debut with Ring of Honor.
Green made her debut with the promotion during tonight’s Best in the World event. During the event, Maria Kanellis Bennett announced the brackets for the Quest for Gold Women’s Title Tournament. Since the end of April, Kanellis Bennett has been scouting women for the promotion in order to rebuild its women’s division and crown a brand new ROH Women’s World Champion.
You can view the first-round brackets below:
Green came out during the bracket announcement to say she was there to watch the competition. She wanted to come and participate, bad arm and all, but she was told by the Maryland Athletic Commission that she wasn’t deemed to compete.
She explains that she will be ringside during each and every match – watching and studying. When she can get back in the ring she is going to show the entire world what she can do. She says that she is unstoppable and she deserves to hold the ROH Women’s World Title over her head. In one month, when she is healed and stronger than ever, she will join the ROH women and take the division to another level.
In a report from Fightful Select, they further discuss this appearance by Green. They have learned some information on her involvement with the promotion. The agreement was put into place over a month ago and she had to get WWE clearance to make an appearance prior to her 90-day non-compete clause was up. Which for her now is in a few days. Green was released by WWE on April 15.
She is set to appear on future ROH tapings in a commentary position [presumably while unable to compete] and Fightful has been told she does not have a contract with the company at this time.
