This past Sunday on January 14th, a newly founded independent promotion in Chicago made a statement by making the first champion of their promotion a Women’s Champion. Zelo Pro Wrestling is new to the Chicago independent scene, so they decided to stand out amongst the competition and make a hometown girl’s dreams come true.
Originally Kylie Rae and Tessa Blanchard were supposed to square off for the newly created Zelo Pro Women’s Championship until an extended flight delay stranded Tessa in Orlando, FL. Therefore, Zelo Pro had to improvise and they booked Laynie Luck to wrestle Kylie Rae in the main event. The match did not disappoint and it had Chicago’s faithful on the edge of their seating rooting vigorously for their hometown favorite, Kylie Rae.
After Kylie’s submission victory over Laynie Luck she took a moment to appreciate the opportunity given to her. Kylie’s friends and family were in the crowd that day, so this victory meant something special to Kylie. In wrestling for Booker T‘s promotion, Reality of Wrestling (ROW) Kylie found success, but to win this championship title in front of the people she loved meant something very special to her.
