As originally reported by ESPN, word around the wrestling world this morning is that the late Joanie “Chyna” Laurer would be included into this year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. It was noted, however, she would not be inducted alone, but part of the faction D-Generation X. WWE are now confirming that D-Generation X will, in fact, be going into this year’s Hall of Fame.
Chyna was one of the founding members in 1997, along with Triple H and WWE Hall Of Famers “Ravishing” Rick Rude and “HBK” Shawn Michaels. Chyna went off in 1999 to solo superstardom. She entered the Royal Rumble twice, won the Intercontinental Championship three times and won the Women’s Championship. Her career was cut short in 2001 and we sadly lost Chyna in April 2016 of a drug overdose.
One of the last videos she filmed saw Chyna contemplate a Hall of Fame induction and wish to make amends with WWE. This Hall of Fame induction will hopefully bring closure to her fans.
Are you excited? Would you rather she be inducted alone? Comment!
