Cora Jade is rising to new heights on the NXT brand as she now holds a victory over the NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose. The match may have been a non-title bout, but this puts a feather in the cap of Cora heading into WarGames on Dec. 5.
The match turned to Cora’s favor once Kay Lee Ray made her way out to the ring with a baseball bat. Earlier in the night, she was seen backstage emerging from a pile of smashed-up items. Jade suggested that her team (along with Zoey Stark) search for their fourth member for WarGames while she took care of Mandy Rose in the ring.
KLR continued her destruction of rage with her bat around ringside before tossing the bat up to the ring in which the referee caught. This distraction allowed Jade to take advantage and stack up Rose for the pin to get the upset victory.
After the match, KLR approached Jade, Io Shirai, and Raquel Gonzalez and confirmed she would be the fourth for their team at WarGames. She also stated that she would be the one to represent the team in the ladder match next week for the WarGames match advantage.
Elsewhere on NXT this week, Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta took on the team of Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter. Hartwell was still upset over the attack on Dexter Lumis last week who is now out for at least a month. Because of this, she wasn’t on her “A game” and took the pin from Catanzaro.
Ivy Nile took on Yulisa Leon as the third women’s match. This was Leon’s debut match for NXT and first singles match. She has appeared on two occasions the past few weeks on 205 Live in tag team action. Nile picked up the win after an impressive showing.
A promo aired for Tiffany Stratton saying she is coming soon to NXT. She made her debut last week on 205 Live and picked up a win against Amari Miller.
On this week’s 205 Live on Friday, Nov. 26 after SmackDown, two women’s matches are on the card. Amari Miller takes on Erica Yan while Valentina Feroz battles Elektra Lopez.
