Heading into tonight’s NXT 2.0 there was a NXT Women’s Championship match set between the champion Mandy Rose and the challenger Roxanne Perez. As the show started, it showed that Perez was attacked out in the parking lot and throughout the show it was unknown if she could compete in the main event.
Tonight’s show had a total of three women’s matches with the following results –
- Tatum Paxley defeated Kayden Carter
- Indi Hartwell defeated Lash Legend
- Mandy Rose (c) defeated Roxanne Perez – NXT Women’s Title
Perez along with her best friend Cora Jade became the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions last week after defeating Toxic Attraction (Jacy Jayne & Gigi Dolin). Rose warned Perez last week not to cash in her Breakout Tournament contract because she wouldn’t be able to defeat her. She also mentioned that Perez may not make it to their match.
After the parking lot attack earlier, Perez did make it to the match and competed, however, what she was not expecting is for her tag team partner, co-champion, and best friend to stab her in the back. In the final moments of the match, Perez hit the Code-Rox on Rose on the outside. After she rolled Rose back into the ring, Jade hit Perez with the tag team belt. Rose took advantage and picked up the pin for the victory and to retain.
Prior to the main event, if Perez wasn’t going to be able to make it to the match, Nikkita Lyons stated backstage that she would fill in.
In the Paxley vs. Carter match, Paxley set out to continue to prove herself to Diamond Mine. Ivy Nile has been pushing Paxley to be able to stand on her own and handle any of her arguments. After getting into a heated argument with Carter/Chance last week she took on Carter tonight. The final moments of the match had Paxley pulled off the ropes by Carter but Paxley flipped Carter over to trap her into a pin scoring the upset victory.
Hartwell vs. Legend resulted in Alba Fyre catching the attention of Legend. Fyre and Legend have been feuding and this distraction caused Hartwell to get the pin. She faltered with her finisher as she slipped off the top rope, but Hartwell recovered to pin Legend. Fyre hopped on the ring apron with her bat in hand to taunt Legend after the match.
Tiffany Stratton treated herself to a manicure after her win last week.
