The countdown to this year’s WrestleMania is in full swing. WrestleMania 41 takes place on the weekend of April 19 and 20. 52 (really 55) matches in the history of WrestleMania include women. Diva Dirt will countdown two matches daily to rank all 52 leading up to this year’s event. You can check out the full list so far at the bottom of this article.
Now onto 12 & 11
NOTE: It is getting extremely hard to pick the rest of this list and rank them as there are really no “bad matches” left.
12. WrestleMania 33
Naomi def. Alexa Bliss (c), Becky Lynch, Carmella, Mickie James, and Natalya – Six Pack Challenge for SmackDown Women’s Title
Naomi’s moment! The biggest setback to this match was its length. Because what do you mean they through together Naomi’s moment in a six woman match to be only five minutes and thirty seconds? Blasphemy!
Anyway, it was a nice moment that Naomi got the title back after she had been injured from winning it the first time. The title had gone back to Alexa before Naomi recaptured it here in her hometown.
11. WrestleMania 18
Jazz (c) def. Trish Stratus and Lita – WWF Women’s Title
This is the other (previously listed Trish vs. Jazz vs. Victoria match) triple threat from an older WrestleMania that deserves way more flowers. What a fun match this was by three of the biggest stars during this time. Trish not winning in her hometown, Jazz defeating two future hall of famers, and the finish was fun.
They really should have continued better matches like this and the formula that went with it through the Divas era. They just didn’t. They capitalized on “celebrities” and other nonsense that we got instead.
