NXT is being presented tonight for the first time from the WWE Performance Center. As TakeOver: Tampa rapidly approaches, more qualifiers will emerge leading up to the Ladder Match that is planned. This match at TakeOver is a number one contender match who will receive a future shot at the NXT Women’s Championship.
This week will witness a heated dispute between Dakota Kai and Mia Yim. This has been a side storyline between the two in lieu of the heavily focused Kai vs. Tegan Nox rivalry.
Their side rivalry began during TakeOver: WarGames when Yim originally took Kai’s spot on Team Ripley. Kai would then take out Yim prior to the match and took her place. In turn, Kai turned on her best friend and tag team partner Nox during that match.
Two weeks ago, Kai and Raquel Gonzalez interrupted Yim’s match with Xia Li. This led to Li picking up the quick win. Gonzalez would attack both Yim and Li after the match.
