Dana Brooke officially becomes the first woman from the SmackDown brand to qualify for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match. She earned this by defeating Naomi in what some may call an upset on tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown.
Prior to the match starting, Brooke was met by Carmella in the back as she was preparing for her important match. Carmella was puzzled how Brooke was going to try and qualify for MITB but was also going to team with her for a Women’s Tag Team Championship match next week. Brooke put her tag partner at ease saying that she’s got all of this.
The match was a great back and forth between Naomi and Brooke. Brooke had Naomi’s moves mapped out and was able to counter many of them including a Rear View. Naomi would follow that up by hitting the Rear View after her second attempt which normally would have signified the end for Brooke, however, she kicked out. Naomi then missed with a split legged moonsault. Brooke was able to secure her win after executing a flip for the pin.
Brooke joins Shayna Baszler, Nia Jax, and Asuka from RAW. There will be two more women to join from the blue brand. Who do you think it will be?
It was announced that the Money in the Bank Ladder Match will take place at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, CT. It is being deemed as “climbing the corporate ladder.” They will have to fight their way up to the top of the building to reach the roof to get to the briefcase. The event will take place on May 10.
