Dana Brooke to take on Naomi in a Money in the Bank qualifying match

It was announced tonight on Friday Night SmackDown that two women from the blue brand will battle it out next week for a chance to enter the Money in the Bank ladder match. The Money in the Bank pay-per-view is still on schedule for May 10 as advertised. It will most likely take place at the WWE Performance Center and continue without a crowd. The qualifying match scheduled for next week is Dana Brooke vs. Naomi.

Last year’s Money in the Bank was a huge success for current SmackDown Women’s Champion – Bayley. Not only was she able to win the briefcase, but she cashed in on the same night and defeated Charlotte Flair to win the blue brand’s shiny prize. Flair had only won the title seconds before by defeating the then double champ – Becky Lynch.

Since then, Bayley has been at the top of the SmackDown women’s division. It all really started with that briefcase.

The same could happen for either Naomi or Brooke if they move on to this yearly event which can catapult a superstar to new heights. Naomi has felt the taste of gold and since returning at the Royal Rumble she has been hungry for it again. Brooke has yet to win gold during her tenure with the company and this could be what she needs to get there.

If Naomi advances this will be her third Money in the Bank appearance. It would be Brooke’s second.

It is important to note that on tonight’s show, Brooke and Carmella seemed to have made their way into the tag team division. The Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross agreed to give them a WrestleMania style match in the future.

Who do you think will advance to the Money in the Bank Ladder Match? Naomi or Dana Brooke? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
