Ranking #10 – Damage CTRL
Damage CTRL’s bond appears to have been fully repaired and unaffected from Money in the Bank as the duo continue to share in each other’s success.
After Bayley would defeat Zelina Vega, she would appear with IYO SKY in the main event and attempt to aid her cashing in on Asuka but for the second week in the row the WWE Women’s Champion managed to escape the duo.
Between SKY targeting the champion and Shotzi waiting in the wings, Damage CTRL have a full plate to keep them busy.
Ranking #9 – Asuka
The WWE Women’s Champion continues to thrive amidst the chaos that has engulfed the Smackdown Women’s division.
Taking full advantage of Charlotte and Bianca Belair‘s blinded attempts to take her title while staying ahead of one another, Asuka went in to her title defence this week feeling confident.
Much like last week, anarchy would ensue with Charlotte and Damage CTRL all getting involved but it worked in Asuka’s favour after she misted Bayley and managed to escape, her title still firmly in her possession.
Ranking #8 – Sonya Deville & Chelsea Green
With the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions watching at ringside, the No.1 Contenders would get a warm up match as they faced Katana Chance & Kayden Carter on this week’s RAW.
Winning the gauntlet match the week previously has boosted the duo’s confidence, if that was even possible, as they outsmarted their opponents and stood tall with all the momentum as they prepare for their title match next week.
Ranking #7 – Zoey Stark
Of course, the assist has to go Trish Stratus so #ThankYouTrish but Zoey Stark picked up the biggest win of her career this week as she pinned Becky Lynch on RAW.
The pairing of Stratus and Stark continues to make Stark one of the best booked NXT call-ups from the recent Draft and since they don’t appear to be splitting any time soon, perhaps it’s time Lynch called in some backup of her own?
Ranking #6 – Charlotte
Charlotte may have lost her own shot at the WWE Women’s Championship but within the first hour of Smackdown this week, she had secured herself another opportunity with an agreement with Bianca Belair.
Some may say it seems a little premature to demand a title match from a woman who hasn’t even won it yet but Charlotte was so confident in Belair she had not intended on even sticking around to watch until Damage CTRL boasted loudly that they would hanging around.
The main event would predictably break down but in Charlotte’s defence, she only got involved to counter Damage CTRL and though she did strike Belair with a spear and cause the DQ, Belair was not her target.
Ranking #5 – Toni Storm
After confronting Taya Valkyrie alongside her fellow Outcasts, Storm would be challenged to a title match.
At Battle of the Belts, Storm and Valkyrie would clash for the first time in AEW, marking Valkyrie’s first shot at the AEW Women’s championship. Thanks to a well-timed elbow from Ruby Soho, Valkyrie would be hit with Storm Zero and the title remains with the Outcasts.
Ranking #4 – Bianca Belair
Usually when a talent sits at the top of their respective division for a long time, they either take a break or fall out of favour with the crowd but Belair remains one of the most over female talents on the roster, judging the reaction from this week’s Smackdown crowd.
Belair would open and close Smackdown this week but she did not leave with the title. The teasing Flair vs Belair continues while Asuka remains in the middle of the tug of war between them.
Ranking #3 – Willow Nightingale
Few have had as good a week as Willow Nightingale in terms of in-ring success. Earning her spot to the finals by derailing the force that is the Ring of Honor Women’s Champion, Athena, before meeting Ruby Soho in the finals.
Soho had been here before, just losing out in the finals last year but second time did not prove the charm as Nightingale would put Soho away and be crowned the winner of the Owen Hart Foundation tournament.
Ranking #2 – MK Ultra
The Coven’s reign as the Knockouts Tag Team champions has come to an end as they met the formidable force that is Masha Slamovich and Killer Kelly.
Kelly and Taylor Wilde had tagged together once before when Wilde turned on Kelly and brought in KiLynn King to form The Coven. Kelly being the one to dethrone the pair feels almost like retribution.
The Knockouts tag division is still lacking some depth but new champions are always exciting, who knows where this might lead!
Ranking #1 – Trinity
It really couldn’t have been anyone else!
Since arriving in Impact, becoming Knockouts Champion has seemed like an inevitable for Trinity and this past week she achieved that goal by tapping out The Virtuosa and securing the gold.
Now atop the division, a role that just seems to fit, Trinity will have challengers waiting in the wings as she starts her own era within the Knockouts division. Impact have one of the strongest women’s divisions today with arguably the most consistent booking of said division so it seems Trinity and her reign could be in good hands!
What did you make of this week’s action and who would you like to see step up to Trinity first? Let us know in the comments!
