DD Power 15: July 16 to July 22

Ranking #15 – Taya Valkyrie

Last Week – N/A

Since her arrival in AEW, Taya Valkyrie has been predominantly chasing the TBS Championship with thus far little success. This week on Collision, she displayed a more vicious approach to her in-ring work and came away with the victory over crowd favourite, Skye Blue.

Emboldened by this victory, Valkyrie has thrown a challenge down to Britt Baker, arguably one of the top women within AEW, for a match at Dynamite which has been made official.

Ranking #14 – Ronda Rousey

Last Week – N/A

Since being betrayed by long time friend Shayna Baszler, which cost her the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles, Ronda Rousey has been seeking revenge and answers.

This week, after Baszler’s match, Rousey would confront her from above (symbolically as Rousey would point out) before issuing the challenge for Summerslam. Shayna Baszler vs Ronda Rousey for the first time in a WWE ring.

The match has not been officially added to the card yet, which may suggest some sort of stipulation to be added, but it’s confirmed to be happening.

Ranking #13 – Bianca Belair

Last Week – 4

Bianca Belair drops considerably this week due to not appearing on Smackdown but remains on the list because she has secured her title match at Summerslam.

Belair will share the ring with Charlotte and Asuka with the WWE Women’s Championship on the line and since she was not on Smackdown, Belair was spared this week from being jumped by Asuka much like her fellow challenger, Charlotte, was.

Ranking #12 – Kiana James

Last Week – N/A

Recently Kiana James has been targeting Gigi Dolin, stemming back to the No.1 Contenders battle royal back in June.

Dolin won their first encounter but James would leave that match with the last laugh and this week James left with the last laugh and the victory. She has been utilising a ‘loaded handbag’ in her matches against Dolin and the pair are now one a piece so a rubber match is surely to be expected.

In other news, James also competed in a dark match before Smackdown against NXT Women’s Champion, Tiffany Stratton, bringing her in front of a larger audience once again.

Ranking #11 – Shayna Baszler

Last Week – 12

Baszler exhibited her dominance this week on RAW by making short work of Nikki Cross before she was confronted by Ronda Rousey.

Baszler would invite Rousey to the ring, declaring that she and the WWE Universe all know that Baszler is the better competitor in the WWE ring. Rousey did not take this invitation but has extended a challenge of her own and the pair are expected to clash at Summerslam.
