Ranking #10 – Kris Statlander
Last Week – N/A
The TBS Champion hasn’t appeared on the ranking for a few weeks after her continued title defences took a brief hiatus but she was back this in force as she retained over Marina Shafir.
Statlander has been a fighting champion since winning the title but we are lacking some substance to her matches, as good as they may be. Hopefully a new challenger will emerge and provide more than just a match for our champion.
Ranking #9 – Liv Morgan
Last Week – N/A
Liv Morgan’s second reign as 1/2 the WWE Women’s Tag Team champions but she did something that not many women have even attempted since Rhea Ripley became champion and that was to take the fight to the champion.
Ripley had previously warned the tag champions and was arguably instrumental in them losing the titles on RAW and Morgan would retaliate in kind by injecting herself into the main event and attacking Ripley.
With Raquel still wounded from Ripley’s assault, we may see Morgan step up to Ripley at Summerslam. Regardless, how Ripley and Judgement Day may respond to Morgan will prove interesting to see.
Ranking #8 – Becky Lynch
Last Week – N/A
Becky Lynch was the guest on MizTV this week but would circumvent the usual format by demanding Trish Stratus and Zoey Stark make their way out, knowing that this was the ultimate set up.
Lynch demanded another opportunity against the pair which Stratus would graciously provide with a few caveats. To earn a match against Stratus, Lynch needs to defeat Stark but if Stark wins, there are some punishments for Lynch including a ‘Thank You Trish’ tattoo.
The segment would end with Lynch standing tall and Stark/Stratus retreating.
Ranking #7 – Willow Nightingale
Last Week – 3
Arguably the rising star of women’s wrestling this year with all her accolades that she continues to rack up, Willow Nightingale remains on the rankings this week despite losing to Athena.
The two made history as the first women to main event a ROH PPV and perhaps even more shockingly, Nightingale earned the respect of Athena who would raise her hand post-match after a gruelling affair.
Ranking #6 – Thea Hail
Last Week – Nick’s Wildcard
Give me a ‘Hail Yeah!’
Thea’s rise from Chase U mascot to considerable threat to the title has been great to see. This week, Hail would tap out the bigger and stronger competitor Elektra Lopez before demanding a rematch from Tiffany Stratton.
Given that Stratton had tapped out previously and unlike Hail does not utilise a submission hold often, Hail would demand a Submission match and after twisting Stratton’s arm, literally, she got her wish.
