Ranking #10 – The Coven
Last Week – N/A
The Coven continue to be one of the most successful tag teams in women’s wrestling today.
Not only did they successfully defend their titles against The Death Dollz on Impact, KiLynn King would represent The Coven in an impressive victory over Nevaeh in the Against All Odds preshow.
Is there anyone capable of standing against the overwhelming energy of The Coven?
Ranking #9 – Skye Blue
Last Week – N/A
With the opportunity to earn a future title shot, four women went in to Rampage focused and determined this past week.
Britt Baker, Mercedes Martinez, Skye Blue and Nyla Rose. Four impressive talents with their own accolades, some more than others, brought the fight in a fast-paced affair but it would be the underdog Blue who would pick up the victory and earn herself a match against Toni Storm.
Ranking #8 – Thea Hail
Last Week – Nick’s Wildcard
In a feel-good ending of NXT this week, Thea Hail was lifted on the shoulders of Chase U students as they swarmed the ring in celebration of her victory in the Number One Contenders Battle Royal.
Victory did not come easy for Hail who was nearly taken out completely by Lash Legend when she was dropped on the steel steps but it came down to Hail, Cora Jade and Dana Brooke.
Brooke and Hail enjoyed a brief alliance but Hail accidentally took her out ending that before outlasting both women to make her Tiffany Stratton’s first challenger.
Ranking #7 – Becky Lynch
Last Week – N/A
Despite being in a one-sided Lumberjill match of sorts, Becky Lynch was able to overcome Sonya Deville (and Chelsea Green) to qualify for the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
Throughout the match, Lynch had to contend with Green’s interference and the scouting of Trish Stratus and Zoey Stark who could have jumped in at anytime.
The match between Lynch and Deville was the longest and arguably the best of the qualifying matches so far and Lynch has said that winning the contract is one of the last things she has left to accomplish.
Ranking #6 – Damage CTRL
Last Week – N/A
All seems to be well and good once again in the camp of Damage CTRL. The duo, with Dakota Kai out of action, would support one another in their respective qualifying matches this week on Smackdown.
Bayley would take out Michin and SKY would overcome Shotzi (with a small distaction from Bayley) and both times the pair celebrated together which suggests they may be on the path of healing… at least for now.
Ranking #5 – Zoey Stark
Last Week – 2 (w/Trish Stratus)
As well as being Stratus’ right-hand person, Stark managed to take enough time from torturing Becky Lynch to also qualify for Money in the Bank this week on RAW.
Her win came at the expense of Natalya, a decorated and established veteran in the industry so Stark is bound to be feeling pretty good about herself right now.
Stratus may have had a hand (or a boot) in the outcome but the history books will show that Zoey Stark defeated Natalya.
Ranking #4 – Charlotte
Last Week – N/A
She’s back! Again!
Making her return since her loss to Rhea Ripley at Wrestlemania, Charlotte would interrupt the new title ceremony to demand an opportunity at the title.
Laughing at the mere suggestion she get in line, Charlotte let Asuka know she respects her more than anyone else and Asuka accepted the challenge. Charlotte would avoid the mist and slam Asuka’s face into the podium to send her retreating.
The match has been made official but Charlotte has perhaps made herself an enemy in Bianca Belair who has been very vocal about her feelings on this development.
Ranking #3 – The Unholy Union
Last Week – N/A
In what was scheduled to be an interview for Smackdown’s newest tag team broke down into a brawl featuring champion vs champion.
Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre would gleefully accept the challenge set down by Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler to unify the tag team titles and would throw the first punch in the resulting scrap.
The duo seemed overwhelmed until Dawn strategically took out Baszler as she and Rousey looked to double team Fyre.
Ranking #2 – Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler
Last Week – 1
The WWE Women’s Tag Team champions would make their dominance felt across both RAW and Smackdown this week.
Before they threw down the challenge to the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions on Smackdown, the pair would face Kayden Carter & Katana Chance on RAW.
The match was a perfect example of what the tag team division could deliver and was actually an impressive in-ring bout for the champions too.
Ranking #1 – Asuka
Last Week – 3
Since the Draft, the title situation has been a little messy but WWE have begun steps to correct this week with Asuka being crowned the WWE Women’s Champion with a brand new title belt.
Despite Smackdown having the shallower pool of numbers in comparison to RAW, Asuka has no shortage of challengers to her throne after the entire locker room confronted her last week and Belair is still awaiting her rematch but this week, she added another name in Charlotte.
Barely getting the new belt around her waist, Asuka was interrupted by Charlotte and would accept the challenge laid out to her. After missing the mist and being struck by Charlotte, Asuka would retreat to fight another day.
What did you make of the women’s action this week? Who would you place at #1? Let us know in the comments!
